Tea Ceremony Workshop – Retreat for Wellness
Tea as Mindfulness. Tea for Well-being.
Chanoyu, or tea ceremony, has been practiced by the people of Japan for centuries to shed worldly attachments and feel a complete relaxation. The old saying “Cha-Zen-ichi-mi” , meaning Tea and Zen are equal, identifies its principle deeply rooted in Zen Buddhism. It suggests the effect of awareness of what you experience through your five senses, to cherish the moment in your everyday life and to feel vital power and inner peacefulness.
The Japanese Tea Ceremony workshop is conducted in English/Japanese. You can practice how to prepare a bowl of matcha green tea by following the traditional Chado rituals while learning about the history, art and aesthetics of Japan. Experience this workshop of tea on traditional tatami mat tearoom and modern ryurei (table-and-chair) style.
